Legendary Bertone design house to close

Bertone, the legendary Italian automotive design house has formally filed for bankruptcy as confirmed by the companies lawyers
Founded in Turin in 1912 by Giovanni, Giuseppe, Louis and Tarcisio Bertone the iconic design house designed many legendary cars including, Lamborghini Miura, Lamborghini Espada, Lancia Stratos, Fiat X/19, Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Special Alfa Romeo Montreal and one of our personal favourites, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GT.
Suppliers have lodged claims and forced the company to cease trading with a court now to decide if the firm will have top shut for good or whether a purchaser for the company’s assets can be found. There are rumours that there are several Italian companies interested along with a number of foreign organization’s preparing bids including a Turkish firm.
A sad situation as Bertone celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012 and has provided some beautiful designs that have stood the test of time.
